Thrift Style Thursday: Pretty in Pink

This is my week to host Thrift Style Thursday, and I thought I'd ask all the TST ladies to feature one of my favorite colors to wear - pink!

I was never hugely fond of the color as a child. It was girly, and I was not. I liked blues and greens.

One day though, several years ago, I wore a pink sweater to work and received an inordinate number of compliments on it.

Being the skeptic I am, I decided to try an experiment. So I thrifted a second bright pink garment and wore it a few weeks later. Again, tons of compliments.

After the third or fourth repetition I was convinced it wasn't just a coincidence. Apparently, pink suits me.

And thus my love of the color pink developed. I mean, who doesn't like to wear things that draw compliments, right?

Through refashioning, the number of pink garments in my wardrobe has grown substantially. In fact, the pink pants above are the only thing pictured here in its original form.

And knitting hasn't hurt either!

So clearly, I lean toward the bright and bold pinks, but what's your favorite? Rose, fuchsia, carnation, raspberry, champagne, cotton candy, watermelon...

I can't wait to see what hues each of the Thrift Style Thursday ladies chose for today! Click their pics below to go see their blogs, or the TST logo in the center will take you to our Facebook page.

And don't forget our newest member, Alison!

Apologies for the flashback episode this week, but Tropical Storm Bill made outdoor photography totally impossible.

  1. Pink does suit you!! I love both the pink polka dot dress and the pink polka dot top! I go for the bold pinks too - magenta is a favorite, but I also really like the salmon shades of pink that almost border on peach.

    1. I'm a big fan of orange too, so the salmons and corals halfway between pink and orange are also delightful!

  4. I have never been a lover of the color Pink, but I do love Pink Flamingos! Well, I guess they're rubbing off on me because I have been adding more and more Pink to my wardrobe this year. :o) I prefer to wear my Pink with Red or a Neon color.

I remember when you made the Cinderella dress, but I still had to click on it again and read the entire process again. :o) LOVE it!!!

    1. Pink and red is a good combo - I need to try it more often!

I loved making that Cinderella dress! It now hangs on my closet door in my sewing room, so I look at every time I go in there!
