This week, at Beth's suggestion, we're celebrating the back-to-school season!
To me, back to school means the welcome transition into cooler autumn weather and basking in the glow of warm, earthy tones. An argyle vest is the perfect extra layer for those chilly fall mornings, but can easily be removed to reveal the cute, little floral dress underneath (look at me, mixing patterns!) when the afternoons start to warm up. To be fair, it's definitely not sweater weather here yet, not even a sleeveless one, but the school spirit overcame me, and I decided to grin and bear it for these pics.
Also, I've been binge-watching Glee lately, so this outfit might be a bit Rachel-Berry-circa-2010, but too bad!
What did you wear to your first day of class when you were young? I bet you looked adorable! Let's go see the other Thrift Style Thursday ladies' interpretation of our Back to School theme! Click their pics below to go see their blogs, or the TST logos will take you to our Facebook page.
It does have a Rachel Berry vibe, but I love it! The argyle vest is SO cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am, after all, a nerdy little goody-goody to my core, so it's only fitting I dress like her!
DeleteI absolutely love this look! It's super quirky and cute, and I love the way that you played with two patterns. They work really well together, and the shoes are the perfect pop of color! Great outfit all around :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meg! I thought the shoes would pull out the little red flowers in the dress' pattern, but you can barely even see them unless you're close up. Oh well!
DeleteI love this back to school look! The dress is adorable, especially with those shoes, but the vest really makes it something unique and fun! It does remind me of Rachel Berry, but also Ugly Betty!! Cute! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I can totally see Ugly Betty in it too, though I never really watched that show.
DeleteSO cute, Carissa! I love Rachel Berry's style! #Gleek :) Great back-to-school inspired look!
ReplyDeleteI know! I'm a sucker for any show/movie with singing and dancing!
DeleteI was in need of new argyle sweater vest inspiration! Thanks!!! :o)
