It fit my shoulders just fine, but it desperately needed some shaping! I flipped it inside out and adding four darts - two in front an two in back.
I also snipped out the hanging straps from the underarms. I don't know why some manufacturers include them when they're not necessary to keep the garment on the hanger. They just get in the way!
So now I have a cute cotton top to wear with a sweater for now and to keep me cool on its own when spring and summer come back around.
Fit is all-important, I am learning. That fits so well after your changes. Looks completely different!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so pleased with myself, you've no idea - I was thinking "darts" and danged if that's not what you did :) You have to understand that usually I have NO CLUE what to do to change the fit. Osmosis - not just for science, haha
Great minds think alike!
DeleteOoh fun polka dots! Great alterations!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather!
DeleteGoing through Decembers posts on the Refashion Co-op as I am doing right now - I am noticing a trend with the cobalt blue :-)
ReplyDeleteThis one looks really lovely.
Happy New Year :-) Eddie
Us - just notices the post title and that it is a part of a series, lol :-)
DeleteThanks, Eddie! I've found I'm more motivated when I can stick to a theme. Of course, I've fallen off the wagon a bit over the holidays, but I plan to do some sewing this weekend!
