Well, my work-life balance is still decidedly unbalanced lately. It turns out, when I finally sign off for the evening, all I want to do is Netflix and knit. Not so good for exercising my sewing machine, but I do feel like I'm putting a dent in my yarn stash at least. I'm not sure I am putting a dent in it, but I feel like I am. So there's that. And there's this: a new shawl design!
When the hard, cold, sharp beauty of nature meets the soft, warm, gentle touch of yarn, you may discover a desire to wrap yourself up in a little rock candy. This geode-inspired shawl is perfect for those gorgeous gradient yarns that are everywhere these days. Pick up one in a brightly colored hue for the interior crystals and another in a neutral grey or brown for the border.
A mix of simple lace, ripples, and garter stitch make this pattern a fairly easy yet interesting project perfect for those evenings on the couch after a long, hard day.

DeleteA Ha, once again I am able to get my "Carissa Fix" ! Its been a long dry spell of your posts. This shawl fits all of the descriptions - ingenious, fabulous, lovely, exquiste design and then the colors bring more adjectives to mind. So lovely paired with the little black dress.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! I'm afraid your "Carissa fixes" are growing fewer and farther between lately. Silly day job! :P
